Dinner and Dance

Dinner and Dance at Gatton Manor

On 11th February 2012 Gatton Manor Hotel, Ockley hosted a dinner dance in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Dancetime was invited to provide the evening’s dancing. A challenge not to be missed! Beryl was assisted by Esme in demonstrating and teaching the dances.

Guests enjoyed a three course meal and then took to the dance floor for 90 minutes tuition in basic Ballroom and Latin American.

Afterwards, the newly acquired skills were put to practice to exciting Latin and ballroom music and the more experienced dancers had the opportunity to excel.

Later in the evening a few line dances were taught causing much hilarity.

The event concluded with a couple of popular disco tunes and of course the inevitable slow number!

As different styles of dance were taught everyone found a rhythm they enjoyed and ventured on to the dance floor.

There were many smiling faces, and the remarks made as people left confirmed that everyone had enjoyed themselves.

Esme commented that everyone was having such fun and that the evening was a resounding success.

Look out for the next one!

Dancetime Annual Display

                                         Dancetime 9th Annual Display

On Saturday 28th January 2012 excited dancers from Dancetime performed at the Leatherhead Leisure Centre.
The event showcased dances from a variety of styles including, Ballroom, Latin American, Freestyle and Line Dance.

The display celebrated the hard work of the students whose ages ranged from 2 years to adult.

Costumes and props such as Hawaiian garlands and pom poms added an extra flair to some of the dances.

At the end of the display medals earned from their recent IDTA examinations were presented.

The audience’s constant smiles made it evident that they were having as good a time as the participants.

Saturday’s event is a perfect example of how confidence and dance technique can be improved through attending Dancetime’s classes.
