Pony Club
On 25th July 2011 Dancetime travelled to
Littleton Manor Equestrian Centre to provide an evening’s Line Dancing for 11
-17 year olds on a Pony Club holiday.
The weather was dry and warm so just right for a bit of
outdoor jigging!
Once the supper tables had been moved the dancing began! It
was comforting to know that the portable ghetto blaster had sufficient volume for
all 40 pupils to hear.
The 1 ½ hour session began with “5
6 7 8” to get everyone in a party mood.
This was quickly followed by several
dances that could be learned quickly such as “struttin’ star”, “electric slide”
and “hooked on country”.
Challenges were set with “slappin’
leather”, “Cajun skip” and “dizzy” so all abilities could be satisfied.
The evening ended with well
known disco and party dances: “Macarena”, Saturday night”, “the birdie song”
and “cotton eye Joe”.
After the day’s riding
and evening’s dancing I think all participants slept well!
